Boltonia asteroides var. recognita
Native to Eastern North America, Aster like Boltonia (Boltonia asteroides var. recognita) is an herbaceous perennial that is both heat and drought tolerant. This species of aster grows up to three feet in height and blooms from August to October with beautiful white daisy-like flowers. It attracts a variety of pollinators and its leaves provide food for many butterfly larvae. Its shallow tap root also makes it beneficial in combating erosion. Because it is suitable for either sunny or slightly shaded areas, this Aster is an easy to maintain addition to one's garden, providing colour and texture all summer long.
