Taxodium distichum 'Mickelson' SHAWNEE BRAVE
The Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum 'Mickelson' SHAWNEE BRAVE) is a deciduous conifer with a wide conical crown. It grows in a pyramidal form which makes it very attractive in gardens. The feathery, bright green foliage turns golden yellow in autumn. It has brownish-green bark with fissures and ridges that form attractive patterns. This dense evergreen conifer has an average height of 15–20 feet, with some specimens reaching heights of up to 40 feet. It can survive in wet soils, and is the only conifer which will thrive in wet areas. It has a long lifespan and is often found along rivers, riversides, and canals. The Bald Cypress is a popular choice for ornamental landscaping, as its attractive pyramidal shape adds visual interest to any landscape.
