Rubus 'Triple Crown'
The blackberry (Rubus 'Triple Crown') is a hardy, easy-to-care-for bramble bush with large, sweet fruits. Triple Crown's cane nurseries produce high yields of large berries that are excellent for jams and pies. This thorny bush produces beautiful white blossoms in the spring and can tolerate cold temperatures up to -10 degrees Fahrenheit. Its deeply lobed, dark green foliage requires pruning and thinning in early spring to allow adequate airflow and light exposure. Adequate moisture is essential for this perennial and its berries require full sun to reach maximum sweetness. Regular fertilization with a balanced fertilizer will encourage healthy growth and fruit production. The fruit will ripen from mid-July to August.
