Carex concinna
Beautiful Sedge is a low-maintenance ornamental plant with a bright, eye-catching appearance. It has paddle-shaped leaves which grow in an upright, tufted form, emerging from an extensive underground root system. This species is native to East-Asia and grows best in damp to semi-moist soil, but can tolerate drought. Its green-bronze leaves make it a perfect addition to a natural-style garden and it's also quite resistant to common garden pests. Additionally, it produces vaguely pigmented flower panicles with light pink or white bracts in spring—a perfect bonus for any garden.
